16-Position Wire-to-Board Receptacle Housing
The JST XHP-16 is the 16-circuit receptacle housing from the JST XH series, a widely used 2.50mm-pitch wire-to-board interconnect family. This single-row, 16-position housing accepts female socket crimp terminals and is designed for free-hanging (in-line) mounting — it mates with the corresponding XH series pin header soldered to a PCB.
The 2.50mm pitch is the standard for the JST XH series — it sets the board footprint for the mating header and the wire-to-terminal spacing. The 16-position count matches a 16-circuit harness or a 16-pin header on the PCB; a 12-position sibling (XHP-12) exists at the same pitch for lower circuit-count builds. The crimp termination means the housing accepts loose terminals (sold separately — see the note below) that are crimped onto 20-28 AWG wire, then inserted into the rear of the housing. The free-hanging, in-line mounting style means this receptacle is not panel-mounted; it floats on the wire harness and locks onto the header via the integral XH series latch.
Contacts Not Included
The XHP-16 is a housing only — contacts are not included. The mating female socket terminals must be ordered separately and crimped onto the wire before insertion.
