Cable Prep and Termination Sequence
This jack is built for RG-174, RG-187, and RG-316 coax — the three common 50 Ohm cables with a nominal 0.100-inch jacket diameter. The shield termination is crimp, the centre contact is solder. You strip the cable, tin the centre conductor, solder it into the beryllium copper contact (gold-plated), then crimp the ferrule over the braid. No separate crimp tool is listed in the spec, but a standard hex crimp die for RG-174/316 size works — check the ferrule OD before you squeeze.
Materials and Environmental Reach
That PTFE gives you stable dielectric constant across temperature and frequency — important for keeping the 50 Ohm line consistent. Rated for 100 mating cycles — enough for test jigs and periodic reconnects, but not a daily-unplug production fixture.
