QMA snap-on bulkhead jack for RG-174, 188, 316 cable assemblies
The TE Connectivity 1408339-1 is a QMA-series jack (female socket) rated for 50 Ohm systems from DC through 6 GHz, with a typical insertion loss of 0.25 dB across the band. The snap-on coupling gives a faster mate than a threaded SMA — you push it on until it clicks, and a quarter-turn of the knurled collar releases it. That makes it a common choice for test-port and panel-to-cable interfaces where the operator cycles connections through the day but doesn't want to torque a nut each time. This is a bulkhead-mount jack — the front-side nut clamps it through a panel cutout, leaving the snap-on interface on the outside and the cable termination inside the enclosure. The shield is crimped; the centre conductor is soldered. The kit ships as five pieces: one connector body, one centre contact, one ferrule, one lockwasher, and one nut. You don't order those separately. The dielectric is PTFE, which keeps the insertion loss stable and the impedance clean through the 6 GHz ceiling. Rated for 100 mating cycles — enough for a production test fixture or a piece of field-test gear that gets reconnected a few times a week, but not for a daily-mate application where you'd want a higher-cycle RF connector.
Cable fit and field assembly
This jack is designed for RG-174, RG-188, and RG-316 cables. That 80°C upper limit is fine for most indoor and sheltered-outdoor RF gear, but if the connector sits near a heat sink or inside a sealed enclosure that bakes, you'll want to check the ambient. The PTFE dielectric handles the cold side without issue.
