QMA snap-on for RG-402 semi-rigid cable
The TE Connectivity 1408348-1 is a QMA-series jack, female socket, designed as a quick-disconnect alternative to standard SMA connectors. It mates with the corresponding QMA plug using a snap-on fastening mechanism — no torque wrench required, which cuts installation time in field-terminated cable assemblies. The connector is supplied as a kit: one jack body and one gold-plated beryllium copper center contact, both in the same order code. The 50 Ohm impedance and 0.25 dB insertion loss at 6 GHz make this a controlled-impedance interconnect for microwave signal paths — think antenna feeds, test equipment front-ends, or base station RF modules where the snap-on convenience justifies a small loss trade-off versus a torqued SMA.
This jack is listed exclusively for RG-402 (.141" semi-rigid) cable. The center contact solders to the signal conductor; the shield terminates to the brass body with a solder joint at the rear. The brass body carries a gold finish — corrosion resistance for outdoor or repeated-handling environments. The gold-on-gold contact interface (gold body finish, gold center contact plating) keeps contact resistance stable across those cycles.
Electrical and environmental limits
The 6 GHz frequency ceiling means this jack supports L-band through C-band signals; above 6 GHz the insertion loss and VSWR climb beyond the 0.25 dB spec at the rated band edge.
