1.25mm Pitch, 3-Position SMT Header — What It Is
The 1.25mm pitch is a mid-density signal spacing — tighter than the classic 2.54mm headers, but still hand-solderable under a microscope. It's a board-to-cable/wire style connector, meaning the header stays on the PCB and mates with a crimp-terminated receptacle housing. The contacts are tin-plated phosphor bronze, rated 1A per circuit at 125V. Tin plating is fine for moderate mating cycles (50-100 mates) in clean environments; the 150 microinch thickness gives some margin against fretting corrosion in mildly corrosive atmospheres. The 1A limit is a signal-level current — think sensor inputs, logic-level power, or low-current actuator drives. That covers automotive cabin, industrial enclosures, and medical equipment that isn't autoclaved. The three-wall shroud protects the pins during blind mating — a real help on a harness assembly line where the operator is plugging by feel.
