8-Position Single-Row Header on 0.100" Grid
The 1744214-8 is an 8-position, single-row, through-hole header from the MTA-100 series. The 1-wall shroud leaves one side of the pins exposed, which eases wire routing when the mating receptacle exits at an angle. Tin-plated mating contacts and solder tails keep the cost low for general-purpose signal and low-power duty. The friction lock provides a positive detent against the mating receptacle — enough retention for moderate vibration in a cabinet or panel, though not rated for high-shock environments.
Current Rating and Operating Range
With 22 AWG wire, expect around 4-5 A per contact; with 26 AWG, derate to about 2 A. The UL94 V-0 housing ensures the header won't propagate a flame inside the equipment.
