Tin plating suits moderate mating cycles (50–100) in clean, dry environments; the thickness here is above the typical 40–80 µin flash, which extends wipe life before fretting corrosion starts. Friction lock on the shroud — not a ramp latch or screw — means the mating housing snaps on with a push and holds against moderate vibration, but won't survive a pull test without the lock engaged.
