Board-fit reality for a 1 mm FPC vertical
The 2-1734248-1: This 21-position, 0.039" (1.00 mm) pitch FPC connector mounts vertically on the PCB, accepting a 0.30 mm thick FPC with a tapered cable end. The ZIF slide lock secures the flex without forcing contacts onto pads—useful when the assembly line or field tech cycles the connection up to 20 times over the product life.
The vertical orientation means the FPC stands upright off the board; the slide lock holds it without a secondary latch. Contacts are one-sided, so the FPC must be inserted with the conductive pattern facing the contact beam. The 5.50 mm height above board leaves clearance for components underneath.
