Hermaphroditic Board-to-Board Connector, 6 Circuits
It uses a 0.157" (4.00mm) pitch, which gives enough room for moderate current and wider PCB traces between pads. Rated at 6 A per circuit and 125 V, it handles signal and low-power distribution in board-to-board links. The housing is natural LCP, good for reflow soldering, and the contacts are tin-plated copper alloy.
Board Layout Fit: Right-Angle SMT, Board-Edge Mount
The 2058703-3 mounts board-edge, right-angle, surface-mount. The locking ramp provides positive retention; on a board-edge connector, that ramp takes the shear load from cable or mating forces so the solder joints don't bear the brunt. Termination is solder-only; no press-fit option here.
Tin vs Gold: The Contact Finish Decision
The 2058703-3 uses tin-plated contacts. Tin is adequate for limited mating cycles — think a few dozen mates in a production test fixture or a semi-permanent board-to-board link. If your application needs hundreds of mating cycles or operates in a corrosive environment, the gold-plated sibling 1-2213614-1 is the better call. Same 6 A rating, same 4.00 mm pitch, same hermaphroditic body — the only functional difference is the contact finish. Both are active. The tin version costs less; the gold version lasts longer in the field.
