The 796640-4 is a 4-position, single-level plug from TE's Buchanan series, designed as the wire-entry half of a 5.00mm pitch terminal block system. It mates with the corresponding 5mm pitch header to complete a field-wireable connection. The 12-30 AWG wire range covers signal-level circuits through moderate power feeds.
Sizing the Connection: Pitch, Positions, and Stacking
At 5.00mm pitch, the 4-position plug occupies about 20mm of rail or panel width. The side-stacking feature lets multiple plugs gang together on the same header row, expanding the circuit count without extra hardware. The plug's 180° wire entry keeps the cable path straight in-line with the header, simplifying routing in shallow enclosures.
