The 62684-402100ALF: The zero insertion force (ZIF) actuator with slide lock prevents pad damage during insertion and holds the actuator closed under vibration. The connector accepts FPC thicknesses of 0.30mm or 0.33mm, with straight or tapered cable ends. The 20 mating cycles limit this to one-time assembly or infrequent service — not a repeatedly mated interface.
Sizing the Footprint and Routing Density
At 0.50mm pitch, the 40 positions require tight PCB trace routing — the pad width and spacing follow the connector's recommended land pattern (check the product drawing for exact dimensions). The top-contact configuration means the FPC pads face upward when inserted; the contact beam presses from above, which is standard for right-angle FPC connectors.
