SMP Jack for Board-Edge RF — Full Detent, 50 Ohm, 18 GHz
The SMP-MSFD-PCE-1: It carries the full detent feature — a positive snap-on lock that holds the mating plug under vibration, distinct from the limited detent variants in the same SMP family.
The SMP-MSFD-PCE-1 uses full detent, meaning the snap-ring in the jack engages a groove on the mating plug for a positive lock. This resists accidental disconnect in high-vibration or cable-movement environments. The sibling SMP-MSLD-PCS18T and SMP-MSLD-PCE-5T use limited detent — a lighter retention intended for blind-mate or push-on applications where you want a lower extraction force. Both are 50 Ohm, 500-cycle rated, and gold-plated, but the detent choice changes the insertion/withdrawal force and the vibration tolerance. If your assembly sees shock or continuous flex, the full detent on this jack is the better anchor.
The centre contact also solders, so the assembly needs a reflow or hand-solder step. The gold-plated beryllium copper body resists corrosion and maintains contact spring force across the 500-cycle life.
