D-Sub backshells and hoods clamp over the cable exit of a mated D-Sub connector to provide strain relief, cable retention, and mechanical protection. Common types include one-piece plastic hoods, two-piece die-cast metal hoods, and EMI/RFI-shielded versions with 180, 90, or 45 degree cable exits, as well as jack screws, thumbscrews, and slide latch hardware.
