The crimp termination allows field-assembly of custom wire lengths, and the locking ramp gives an audible click when the housing is fully seated onto the mating header. The panel mount, snap-in feature lets the housing lock into a chassis cutout without additional hardware, which simplifies panel wiring in control boxes and power distribution units.
Positioning Against Siblings
Within the PA series, the PALR-08V sits between the 6-position PALR-06V and the 7-position PALR-07V on the low side, and the free-hanging PALR-08VF on the same 8-position count. The key difference from the PALR-08VF is mounting: the -08V uses panel mount snap-in for chassis fixing, while the -08VF is a free-hanging (in-line) version for cable-to-cable or cable-to-panel applications where the housing floats on the wire bundle. For a BOM that needs fewer circuits, the PALR-07V shares the same pitch, material, and locking ramp — just drops one position.
