What the 3.50mm Pitch and 2 Positions Mean for Fit
The 3.50mm pitch is the centre-to-centre distance between adjacent contact cavities — it determines the header pin spacing your board footprint must match. A 2-position housing at this pitch occupies about 7mm of panel or board edge, leaving room for routing traces between the two pins on a standard FR4 board. The board latch fastening type means the housing locks onto the mating header's latch posts — this gives a positive mechanical retention that resists vibration and accidental disconnection. It's not a locking ramp like some free-hanging cousins; the latch engages with the header's board-mounted feature, so the header must have the corresponding latch structure.
Panel Mount and Crimp Termination
This housing mounts directly to a panel — the body has integral mounting features that let you fix it in place before inserting the wires. The crimp termination means you'll need the matching tab contacts (sold separately — see the note below) and a hand or automatic crimp tool to attach them to your wire.
You must order the matching tab contacts separately from the same Multi-Lock series. This is standard for modular connector families where the housing and terminals are stocked as separate line items to allow mixing contact plating and wire gauge per application.
