IDC termination for magnet wire
The 1987500-1 is a Style 187 IDC terminal in TE's Mag-Mate series, designed to terminate 26-30 AWG magnet wire directly to a PCB via a post termination — no stripping or soldering at the wire end. The insulation displacement slot pierces the enamel coating on magnet wire and makes contact with the conductor in one press operation. The PCB post then solders into a plated through-hole, completing the circuit.
