What This Housing Does in the Harness
It accepts individual crimp socket terminals and mates with the matching SL-156 pin header soldered to the PCB. The 0.156" (3.96mm) pitch is the standard for this series, giving enough spacing for 18-24 AWG wire without crowding the board footprint. The natural nylon housing carries a locking ramp that clicks over the header latch, holding the pair mated under vibration in industrial cabinet or automotive interior environments.
Ordering the Terminals Separately
Common mating terminals include the TE 1-1703662-1 (tin plated, 18-24 AWG) and 1-1703662-2 (pre-tin, same wire range). The crimp termination allows field-replaceable contacts; the housing accepts the terminal from the rear and the locking ramp retains it.
There is no announced end-of-life or successor part.
