The 5.20 mm pitch and dual-row layout give it room to carry power-level contacts without crowding the wire bundle — the wider pitch also simplifies hand assembly and service access. The glass-filled nylon (PA66) housing handles -25°C to 125°C, which puts it squarely in under-hood automotive and industrial cabinet territory where thermal cycling is the norm.
Mating and Contacts
It mates with the corresponding MCP receptacle header (typically a 12-position, 5.20 mm pitch dual-row header) to complete the wire-to-wire or wire-to-board interconnect. The free-hanging design means no PCB footprint to worry about on the plug side; the harness builder crimps the contacts, inserts them into the housing cavities, and the assembly locks into the mating header. The dual-row 0.236" (6.00 mm) row spacing keeps the two rows separated enough for good creepage at the voltage the system runs.
