It mates with MTA-156 receptacle housings and crimp terminals to create a wire-to-board interconnect for power or signal distribution. The 8 positions are all loaded, and the header is keyed by a single-wall shroud that guides the receptacle into alignment.
At 0.156" (3.96mm) pitch, this header occupies a standard 3.96mm grid on the PCB. The 8 positions in a single row mean the board footprint is 28.6mm wide (7 spaces × 3.96mm plus the outer margins). The natural (off-white) color is standard for MTA-156 headers and helps with visual inspection.
For a given wire gauge, consult the MTA-156 application note for the derated current at 105°C ambient.
