6-Position MTA-100 IDC Receptacle — 0.100" Pitch, Gold Contacts
The 0.100" (2.54mm) pitch is the standard MTA-100 spacing, so the board footprint or harness pitch must match exactly. Closed-end design gives a positive stop for the cable, preventing wire push-through during assembly. The white housing colour is the standard MTA-100 natural; it mates with the matching MTA-100 header (sold separately).
Termination and Wire Handling — IDC for Discrete or Ribbon Cable
This receptacle accepts both discrete 24 AWG wire and ribbon cable through the same IDC slot — a single tooling setup covers both harness builds. The 24 AWG wire gauge is the sweet spot for MTA-100: thick enough for mechanical strength, thin enough to fit the IDC slot without overstressing the insulation.
This is the receptacle half only. The matching MTA-100 header (e.g., the 6-position through-hole or right-angle variant) must be ordered separately. Stock both halves as a mating pair on the shelf — an orphan receptacle with no header in the bin is dead stock. The 0.100" pitch and locking ramp are standard across the MTA-100 family, so any 6-position MTA-100 header with a locking ramp will mate.
