15-Position Board-to-Wire Header for MTA-100 Harnesses
The 4-641126-5 is a 15-position, single-row through-hole header from the TE MTA-100 series. Gold plating on the mating pins (15 µinch) supports repeated connect-disconnect cycles without surface wear; the tin-plated solder tails (150 µinch) are compatible with standard wave-solder profiles.
The 0.100" pitch and single-row layout keep the board footprint narrow — 15 holes in a line, with the post length (0.140" below the insulator) suited for standard 0.062" PCBs. Insulation height of 0.305" (7.75 mm) above the board surface gives clearance for component placement under the mated connector pair. The single-wall shroud (one wall on the mating side) guides the receptacle during insertion but leaves the pin tips partially exposed — orientation matters during assembly to avoid bent pins.
Current and Temperature Derating
The header itself does not limit current; the real ceiling comes from the terminal crimp and wire temperature rise. At the upper end, the UL94 V-0 thermoplastic housing maintains its mechanical properties, but the current must be derated per the wire and terminal ratings if the ambient exceeds 85°C.
