The 42742-1 is a non-insulated female quick-disconnect receptacle from the TE Faston series, accepting 0.250" (6.35mm) wide tabs with 0.032" (0.81mm) thickness. Designed for 12-18 AWG wire with a crimp termination, the right-angle flag orientation suits free-hanging inline routing where a straight receptacle would crowd the adjacent wiring.

Flag vs Straight — Same Tab, Different Reach

The 42742-1 flag receptacle mates with the same 0.250" tab as the straight 1-1627194-4 (Utilux series) and the 1-1659250-0 (Utilux), but the flag body routes the wire perpendicular to the tab axis — useful in tight panel layouts where a straight pull-off is blocked. The 42742-1 accepts a wider wire range (12-18 AWG) and a broader insulation diameter (0.110" to 0.210") than either Utilux sibling, which are limited to 15-18 AWG and 17-20 AWG respectively.
