6.20 mm Pitch Power Housing for In-Line Harnesses
The TE Connectivity 6-178842-1 is a 6-position plug housing from the Universal Power series, designed for free-hanging (in-line) wire-to-wire or wire-to-board power interconnects. The 6.20 mm pitch gives each circuit enough spacing to handle the current and wire sizes typical of power distribution — this is not a signal-density pitch. The latch lock fastening holds the mated pair together under vibration — you get an audible click when it seats.
Contacts Are Ordered Separately — Don't Skip This
The housing ships with contacts not included — you must order the matching female crimp socket terminals separately. This is the most common sourcing miss on the Universal Power line. The housing accepts the TE crimp terminals designed for this series; the contact termination is crimp, so you need the correct wire gauge and a compatible crimp tool. Confirm the terminal part number for your wire size before you close the BOM.
