12-Position, 5.00mm Pitch Junior Timer Receptacle Housing
It uses a 5.00mm pitch between contacts and a 5.00mm row spacing, giving it a footprint suited for moderate-density power and signal circuits in automotive and industrial environments.
The 5.00mm pitch and 12 positions (2 rows of 6) define the board or mating header footprint. The 12-circuit count matches a BOM line calling for 12 discrete signal or power wires; if your circuit count is lower, unused cavities can be left empty or plugged with cavity seals (where specified).
This is a housing-only part. The female socket contacts (crimp termination) must be sourced separately — TE's Junior Timer terminal range includes tin- and gold-plated options for power and signal duty. The housing accepts the standard Junior Timer female contact, which is crimped onto 0.5-1.0 mm² wire (typical).
Latch Lock and Harness Retention
The latch lock on the 827230-1 provides a positive mechanical lock when mated to a Junior Timer header. This is the standard fastening method for the series — it prevents accidental un-mating from harness vibration or cable pull, which is why Junior Timer connectors are common in engine-bay and chassis harnesses where the connector sees movement and thermal cycling.
