The natural PA66 (Nylon 6/6) insulation handles an operating range of -55°C to 125°C, so it's at home under the hood, inside an industrial cabinet, or in a sealed enclosure.
You need the matching female crimp socket terminals (TE part numbers from the Universal MATE-N-LOK terminal family) and a compatible hand or auto crimp tool to build the harness. Ordering just the shell and expecting a finished connector is the most common BOM miss on this line. Compared to the 926682-1 (a 3-position version of the same housing), the 926682-3 doubles the circuit count at the same 0.250" pitch and row spacing. If your circuit count is 6, this is the one; if it's 3, the -1 saves a few cents and a bit of panel space.
