What This BNC Plug Delivers
This plug is dimensioned for Belden 9258 and LMR-240 cables — the ferrule ID and centre-contact solder cup match those jacket and dielectric diameters. Using a different cable shifts the impedance launch and the crimp may not compress the braid fully. The shield is crimped, the centre pin soldered: a standard two-step termination for field-install BNC.
The 031-6005-RFX carries a Not Recommended for New Design (NRND) status. That means Amphenol RF is not actively promoting it for new projects, and the manufacturing window is finite. There is no official direct replacement recorded; if the board layout or cable type allows, a standard straight BNC plug from the same series may be a simpler swap, but that is a fit decision, not a pin-compatible drop-in.
