What This Adapter Connects and Why It Exists
The Amphenol RF 031-6101 is a between-series coaxial adapter that bridges an RP-TNC interface to a U.FL (UMCC) or AMC interface. It is a straight, jack-to-jack adapter — the RP-TNC end is a jack with a male pin, and the U.FL end is also a jack with a male pin. This lets you transition from a threaded, panel-mount RP-TNC bulkhead to the miniature snap-on U.FL connector commonly used on Wi-Fi module pigtails and GPS antenna feeds.
RF Performance and Mechanical Limits
The 30 mating cycles are a hard limit — this is a set-and-forget adapter for a bulkhead or enclosure wall, not a test-port adapter that sees daily connects. The gold-on-brass center contact keeps the contact resistance stable across those cycles. The -40°C to 90°C operating range suits outdoor telecom cabinets and industrial enclosures.
Panel mount with a flange — the RP-TNC threaded body passes through a panel cutout and is secured with the supplied lockwasher and nut (included in the bulk package). The snap-on U.FL end mates with a standard U.FL plug on a cable assembly. The straight body keeps the adapter parallel to the panel face, which matters when the enclosure has limited depth behind the bulkhead.
