16-Position FPC Connector with ZIF Slide Lock
It uses a zero-insertion-force (ZIF) slide-lock actuator — the FPC inserts without force, then the slide locks it in place. The contacts are gold-plated (2.00 µin) on a copper alloy base, rated for 20 mating cycles. This is a bottom-contact design, meaning the FPC pads face down toward the PCB.
Right-Angle SMT Footprint and Board Fit
Mounted right-angle to the PCB, this connector sits 1.30 mm above the board — a low profile that suits tight z-height budgets in portable or embedded designs. The 0.50 mm pitch demands careful routing: trace widths and spacing must match the pad layout to avoid shorting. Solder retention pads on the sides provide mechanical anchorage during reflow and against cable strain. Accepts FPC thickness of 0.30 mm. The straight cable end type means the FPC exits parallel to the connector body, not at an angle. The slide lock engages after insertion — no secondary latch is needed.
RoHS compliant. No official successor or cross-reference from the manufacturer. The VLL series includes position variants from 12 to 16 circuits with identical pitch and height — the 15-position (10051922-1510ELF) and 14-position (10051922-1410ELF) are direct siblings for lower circuit-count BOMs.
