Contact Plating and Cycle Life
The 65863-051LF: 30 µinch gold over nickel on the mating face is rated for repeated mate/unmate cycles without the fretting corrosion that tin contacts suffer in low-energy circuits. The post finish is 100 µinch tin, which solders reliably into the plated through-hole — the tin thickness ensures good wetting and a durable solder joint.
Retention and Vibration Resistance
Latch lock/eject hooks on both ends of the shroud snap into the mating receptacle's slots, providing positive retention against cable strain and vibration. This is a step up from a simple friction lock — the hooks resist accidental unmating in equipment that sees transport or fan vibration.
