SMA Plug for 1.13 mm Coax — What's in the Kit
The Amphenol RF 901-10107 is a field-terminable SMA plug, male pin, built for 1.13 mm OD coaxial cable. It's a threaded, 50 Ohm connector rated to 6 GHz — the standard interface for antenna feeds, GPS modules, and short-run RF interconnects where the cable diameter keeps the assembly flexible. The kit ships as five pieces: the connector body, the center contact, a ferrule, an insulator, and a sleeve. That's everything except the cable and the crimp tool.
Termination: Crimp the Shield, Solder the Center
Shield termination is crimp; the center contact is solder. That's the common hybrid for SMA-on-small-coax — the ferrule crimps over the braid for a gas-tight mechanical and electrical bond, while the center pin solders to the signal conductor. The 1.13 mm cable group is a thin, semi-flexible coax (often used in IoT and portable gear), so the solder joint needs a steady hand and a fine-tip iron. The brass body and center contact are gold-plated, which keeps the contact resistance low through the 500-cycle rated life.
Operating Range and Environment
That's wide enough for outdoor antenna mounts, engine-bay test leads, or thermal chamber feedthroughs — the PTFE won't cold-flow at the low end or soften at the high end. The threaded coupling nut (SMA standard) holds the mate under vibration; 500 mating cycles means it'll survive repeated connect-disconnect in a test setup or field-service kit.
