Frequency and Impedance — 20 GHz at 50 Ohm
The 20 GHz upper frequency limit puts this jack into the full SMA band — it will pass Ku-band and most K-band signals without rolling off. The 50 Ohm impedance is standard for nearly all RF system chains, so it matches directly to 50 Ohm line components, cables, and instruments.
Cable Termination and Shield
This jack is designed for 3.3mm coaxial cable — a common diameter for RG-type cables like RG174 or RG316. The shield is crimped, the centre conductor soldered. Crimp termination is faster and more repeatable than solder-braid methods for production runs, and the gold centre contact plating maintains low contact resistance through repeated mates. The threaded fastening (SMA standard) gives a positive mechanical lock against vibration loosening.
Bulkhead mounting with a front-side nut means the jack installs from the outside of the panel — the threaded body passes through the cutout and a nut tightens from the rear.
