It's a free-hanging (in-line) crimp housing meant for wire-to-board or wire-to-wire harnesses where you need a compact, latch-secured connection. Critical note right up front: contacts are not included. That's a field-repairable setup: if a terminal backs out or frets, you can re-pin it on site with a basic crimp tool and a terminal pull-out tool.
Pitch, Polarity, and What Crosses
That pitch also means the mating header has the same spacing, so the board footprint is fixed: 1.50 mm centre-to-centre. The housing is polarised by the latch holder and a keying rib on the mating face — you can't insert it backwards into the header, which saves a harness rework when the assembler isn't looking. If you need more or fewer circuits in the same footprint, the ZE series runs from 2 to 15 positions. The ZER-09V-S is the 9-position sibling — same 1.50 mm pitch, same latch, same natural PBT — just two extra cavities.
Termination and Field Fit
Termination is crimp-only. On site, you can re-pin this housing with the terminals in your kit. The primary latch on the terminal tang releases with a small pick inserted from the front of the cavity — no need to cut and re-crimp the whole harness. That's the field-service advantage of a crimp housing over a moulded-overmould assembly.
