12-Position Side-Entry Terminal Block for PCB Power Distribution
The TE Connectivity Buchanan 1-796682-2 is a 12-position, single-level PCB terminal block with a 0.197" (5.00 mm) pitch, designed for horizontal wire entry relative to the board. It uses a screw-driven rising cage clamp termination — the clamp lifts to trap the conductor against the current bar, giving a gas-tight connection without wrapping wire around a screw. Rated 17.5 A at 300 V, it handles power-level distribution inside industrial control cabinets, HVAC panels, and machinery junction boxes. The black polyamide (PA66) housing carries an interlocking side feature, letting multiple blocks snap together side-by-side for multi-circuit builds on the same PCB.
Pitch, Current, and Termination — What Drives the Fit
The 17.5 A rating per level is the continuous current at the rated temperature rise.
Interlocking Side Feature for Multi-Level Ganging
The interlocking (side) feature means this block has dovetail grooves on each side that mate with adjacent blocks of the same series.
