32-Position PLCC Socket — 0.050" Pitch, Closed Frame, SMT
The 69802-432LF is a 32-position PLCC socket from Amphenol ICC (FCI) designed for programming and production sockets. A closed-frame design surrounds the contact area, protecting the IC leads during insertion and extraction. The housing is moulded from polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) rated UL94 V-0, which handles the reflow temperatures of the SMT assembly process without deformation.
Tin Contacts, 150 µinch — Production-Socket Grade
This is a production-socket plating — it gives reliable contact for several hundred insertion cycles, typical for programming or test fixtures where the IC is inserted and removed dozens to hundreds of times over the product life. For high-cycle test sockets (thousands of cycles), gold-plated variants are more common, but the tin finish keeps the per-unit cost down for production runs. Contact resistance is specified at 20 mOhm, which is typical for a tin-plated socket at this pitch and current rating. The 1 A per-contact rating is a signal-level ceiling — this socket is meant for logic, memory, or microcontroller signals, not power devices.
Surface-Mount Termination, Tape-and-Reel Packaging
The socket terminates by solder to the PCB surface — the SMT pads align with the 0.050" pitch footprint, and the PPS housing withstands the reflow profile.
