SMA Plug for RG-174 and LMR-100 Cable Runs
The Amphenol RF 901-9511-3SF is a 50 Ohm SMA plug, male pin, designed for field termination onto small-diameter coax cables in the RG-174, RG-188, RG-188A, RG-316, LMR-100, and M17/119-RG174 family. It ships as a kit: the connector body, one contact, one ferrule, and one heat-shrink sleeve per the manufacturer's packaging. The PTFE dielectric supports the full frequency range up to 12.4 GHz.
Cable Prep and Termination Sequence
This SMA plug uses a solder center contact and a crimp shield termination. The center pin is soldered to the cable's center conductor; the ferrule is crimped over the braid and jacket. The cable group list is explicit: RG-174, RG-188, RG-188A, RG-316, LMR-100, and M17/119-RG174. Match the body to the reel — a crimp die set for RG-174 will not seat properly on LMR-100, and the impedance match depends on the dielectric diameter. The included heat shrink covers the ferrule-to-cable transition for strain relief.
RF Performance Ceiling: 12.4 GHz at 50 Ohm
Rated to 12.4 GHz maximum frequency, this SMA plug covers the L-band, S-band, and most of C-band.
